It merely gives the player a chance to upgrade their equipment earlier in the game, and is therefore more valuable in the early game than in later ones, because most players value greater weapon scaling and defense over damage gains.

In addition to influencing item discovery, Luck also increases the probability of success when upgrading items using the Blacksmith. This is not to confuse with the Blacksmith's overall upgrade chances, which increase with each item level.
