WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades can give you boosts in certain stats. Each upgrade boosts the level of an item by 3. A random additional substat is also added to each upgrade.

The upgraded gear is usually more useful, unless the item has low requirements by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a high variance in stats (like eth Titan weapons). These types of gear get less value from upgrading due to the requirement to roll to get a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The upgrader for items allows players to upgrade gear to a higher item level by supplying the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be made on any type of armor or weapons. However, the item used to upgrade will be consumed for the duration of time and cannot be used again. Upgrades can also be applied to the enchantments.

You can upgrade your equipment anytime by visiting the upgrader in any major city. To keep your gear current it is recommended that you visit the upgrader each few weeks.

The cost of upgrading will be based on the current level of the item being upgraded but they will always be cheaper than buying new equipment from other sources. For example upgrading a chest piece from Benthic to 385 levels will cost 20 recycle points while purchasing the same item upgrade from another player will cost 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are functional items which can be used to upgrade weapons, tools, armor, and accessories. They can be bought by players through NPCs who sell upgrades for items in exchange for different currencies, and can also be found in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade can be used on any tool, weapon, or armor. The button will show the item's next upgrade level in the event that there are enough materials.

The cost of upgrades varies based on the Item Level Upgrade slot and current item level as well as the level of the weapon, which is more than gloves or bracers, for instance. Each step costs 15 Flightstones plus a set number of crests. Some upgrades give a discount on the Flightstones. After an item has been upgraded to a certain degree it is able to be downgraded and sold to the upgrader for a lower price.

Crests

Players have several options when it comes to upgrading their gear in WoW. Flightstones are a currency that is available to everyone for upgrading. Crests are more special and are utilized during specific item level upgrades. Crests are an integral element of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System introduced in version 10.1. They come in four ranks.

The first thing to note is that crests can only be used on equipment of a particular rank, and that each rank has its own requirements for upgrading. The easiest and most straightforward upgrade costs 15 crests. The most complicated upgrade items requires up to 20 crests, based on the type of gear being upgraded.

Players can earn crests by working through tasks at the appropriate level. This could be done by engaging in outdoor activities or doing dungeons or raids in any difficulty to earn equipment of lower tier or Mythic+ raid bosses or dungeons with heroic difficulty to obtain endgame gear. The crests can then be exchanged with an item upgrader, such as Cuzolth or Vaskarn, in Valdrakken to upgrade the item in the proper steps and pathways.
